About the Speaker:

Nancy Baker, ScD, MPH, OT, FAOTA

Nancy Baker, ScD, MPH, OT, FAOTADr. Nancy Baker is an associate professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University. She received her Doctor of Science (ScD) in Therapeutic Studies at Boston University in 2000, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health in 2009. Before obtaining her doctoral degree, she was a clinical therapist for 11 years, specializing in adult physical disabilities and industrial rehabilitation. She also trained in ergonomic assessment and intervention. She was a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh from 2000 to 2018. Dr. Baker is an internationally recognized expert in musculoskeletal disorders, particularly those related to work and arthritis. Her current work focuses on using virtual reality for pain management. Her scholarly work includes over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, over 200 podium and poster presentations, and 12 textbook chapters. She has expertise in experimental and epidemiological methodology and has been funded at the Federal, Foundation and University levels.
