Shannon Mihalko is a behavioral scientist in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Wake Forest University with a joint appointment in the Department of Social Sciences and Health Policy at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She is involved in clinical trials promoting physical activity and weight management in adults with chronic disease, including knee osteoarthritis and cancer. Her research examines determinants and consequences of behavior change and adherence, with a specific focus on building self-efficacy in older adults to engage in physical activity and healthy nutritional practices on their road to independence.
