Melissa Boswell, Ph.D., is the Vice President of Science and Research at the Joe Gibbs Human Performance Institute (JGHPI), where she leads the development of a groundbreaking biomechanics facility and innovative scientific research to advance human performance research. With expertise in biomechanics, bioengineering, and digital health, she has developed methods to quantify movement as a biometric and promote accessible health solutions. A former postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University’s Neuromuscular Biomechanics Laboratory, Melissa earned her Ph.D. in Bioengineering designing a digital mindset intervention for knee osteoarthritis and pioneering biomechanical tools to increase healthcare accessibility. Melissa is also a leader in science communication, founding the “Biomechanics On Our Minds” podcast and organizing National Biomechanics Day at Stanford. An award-winning researcher, experienced consultant, and passionate advocate for diversity and inclusivity, Melissa continues to drive innovation at the intersection of technology, health, and human performance.
