OACare Tools: Engaging Primary Care Providers in Osteoarthritis Prevention and Management – February 19, 2020

February 19, 2020

Webinar Information:

Providers in primary care settings encounter the majority of patients with osteoarthritis- not rheumatologists or orthopedists! OACareTools is an interactive, online toolkit for primary care providers- family physicians, internists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical and occupational therapists, sports medicine professionals, athletic trainers, fitness professionals and other care providers. The Toolkit includes educational information for providers to expand their knowledge of OA as well as patient-facing handouts and resources that can help empower patients to engage in self-management strategies to complement clinical care.

This presentation will describe the process OA Action Alliance used to develop OACareTools, provide an overview of the Toolkit content, and discuss dissemination strategies & reach to date.

About the speaker:
Katie Huffman has a Masters in Gerontology and is a Program Assistant with the OA Action Alliance; she served as project manager for OACareTools.
