Dr. Chris Kuenze is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and the co-director of the Exercise & Sport Injury Lab at the University of Virginia. His research interest includes the impact of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and surgical reconstruction (ACLR) on physical activity participation and how changes in physical activity influence knee joint health. The goals of his research are to facilitate a safe and timely return to healthy levels of physical activity following ACLR to promote positive long-term joint health and well-being. Chris is also the Director of the ACL Reconstruction Rehabilitation Outcomes Workgroup, a 13-site clinical research collaborative focused on characterizing rehabilitative characteristics and enhancing rehabilitative outcomes following ACLR. Chris has authored or co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, presented at a variety of national and international meetings, and has obtained funding to support his work from numerous public and private sources..
