Emma Dehne, MA
Director of Policy and Strategic Alliances
Emma is the Director of Policy and Strategic Alliances for the OAAA at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Thurston Arthritis Research Center (TARC). She has a Master of Arts in Political Science from Long Island University. She began her career working for a NY State Senator where she was the liaison for healthcare, veteran, and education affairs. She joined UNC in 2015 where she supported the Center Director and Division Chief of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology. She was also the Rheumatology Fellowship Coordinator. She has spent the past three years as the Business Officer to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at UNC. In late 2021, she returned to TARC and OAAA where she is pursuing her true passion for health education & advocacy, policy work, community outreach, and forming key strategic alliances through collaboration. She is also an OA patient which gives her a unique perspective and reinforces her passion to help others.
