This year we focused on expanding our education, awareness and resource library with a particular focus on healthcare providers. We have a lot of exciting projects in the works for 2020 that we can’t wait to share with you soon. While we focus on raising awareness and education about OA, we also actively promote our member organization’s causes. As we close out the year and settle into holiday tidings, we want to reflect on all we have accomplished this year.

Developed by the Osteoarthritis Action Alliance and its dedicated stakeholders concerned with improving OA detection and management in primary care, the Osteoarthritis Prevention and Management in Primary Care Toolkit includes educational information for primary care providers to expand their knowledge of OA as well as patient-facing handouts and resources that can help empower patients to engage in self-management strategies to complement clinical care.

Each month, the Osteoarthritis Action Alliance (OAAA) highlights our many member organizations working to address osteoarthritis (OA). We would also like to recognize those individuals who volunteer their time, experience, and knowledge to advance the OAAA’s efforts and mission. This month, it is our pleasure to spotlight Sarah P. Shultz, PhD, ATC. Dr. Shultz has been a major asset to the OAAA by holding a leadership role on our weight management task force for the past few years, as well as being an advocate on our Steering Committee.
