AAEBI 2023 Call for Applications

AAEBI SealArthritis-Appropriate, Evidence-Based Interventions (AAEBIs) are community-based programs that have been shown to improve arthritis symptoms, such as pain or limitations in function. The Osteoarthritis Action Alliance (OAAA) manages the review process to determine whether community-based programs meet the requirements to be recognized as AAEBIs. The 2023 Application for AAEBI recognition opens today, and program developers are encouraged to submit programs to the OAAA for review by a panel of experts. To be considered eligible for AAEBI recognition, applicants will be required to meet the stated criteria and submit the following documentation:

  • An intervention overview
  • Research article(s) concerning the intervention
  • Additional documents the program developers want to include

Although the current list of recognized AAEBIs encompasses only physical activity and self-management education programs, we encourage programs in other categories (weight-management, injury prevention, falls prevention, or any other arthritis-appropriate outcomes) to apply.

Dates to remember:

  • Application submissions open TODAY!
  • Applications submissions will close on April 28, 2023
  • Notification will occur by September 15, 2023
Don’t work for recognition, but do work worthy of recognition.

If you are someone living with osteoarthritis (OA), Arthritis Consumer Experts is kindly asking you to share your experiences by completing the ACE National Survey on Living with OA. The survey is open to people with a diagnosis of OA and will take approx. 14 mins to complete. Survey available in English or Français.
