Support the OA Action Alliance
this Tar Heal Tuesday

Have you ever heard of the international day of giving, Giving Tuesday?

On Tuesday, November 29, UNC Health will celebrate “this annual day of doing good” with their own version of the day called Tar Heal Tuesday.

UNC Health is fundraising for a variety of initiatives across the system that will make a significant impact on the health of North Carolina and beyond. Managed by the UNC School of Medicine’s Thurston Arthritis Research Center, the Osteoarthritis Action Alliance (OAAA) is proud to celebrate Tar Heal Tuesday 2022

Tar Heal TuesdayCheck out unchf.org/tht22oaa and consider making a gift to support the OAAA! Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis, and your gift will assist us in elevating OA as a national health priority.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 before Tuesday night! Will you join us and go all in to create a healthier future for all? Thank you!

You may have heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. There’s another day you might want to know about: Giving Tuesday. The idea is pretty straightforward. On the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, shoppers take a break from their gift-buying and donate what they can to charity.

DEI Efforts of the 140+ Member Organizations of the OAAA

In each newsletter, we will feature an OAAA member organization’s efforts in the area of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Thurston Arthritis Research CenterThe Thurston Arthritis Research Center (TARC), which includes the OA Action Alliance, is making sure they “walk the walk” in terms of DEI. TARC created their own Diversity Workgroup, composed of team members who are passionate about setting and achieving new and bold diversity goals. The following is a partial list of TARC’S DEI efforts. Stay tuned…there is a lot more to come!
